There is an epidemic that is making people sick. It is the epidemic of entitlement and victimization. When we wrong someone, we neglect two very simple words that can make all the difference in how the situation is handled. These two words that we have forgotten are crucial to rectifying any situation. “I’M SORRY”. These two words can make all the difference between owning it and being a victim. The worst thing to do to another human is to demean them once they have been wronged by not apologizing. This shows that their value was never clearly seen from the get-go. We think expensive gifts or a dozen roses will make all go away. Gifts of this nature are only as meaningful as the person’s apology. In order for an apology to be effective, it must be sincere. It must come from the heart. It must be done by looking into the person’s eyes, the window to the soul, in order for the healing process to begin. The four pillars of respect, honest, loyalty and integrity are crucial to making this world go round. It should be easy to apologize if the four pillars haven’t been compromised and if you acted with truth and honour. If at least one pillar has been broken, an apology will be the hardest thing you have ever done. It means you must admit you were wrong and must put in the work to rebuild the pillar that was broken out of selfish gain. Materialistic things are just that. Things. Empty. No substance. Just objects with high price tags. The best things in life are free. Respect the four pillars. Apologize with sincerity should you hurt another human being. The pillars and apologies are priceless. You provide someone with something much more valuable than any amount of money can buy. You provided them with respect. Nothing better than that 💞☀️
